Katy Perry’s left shark, Bono’s flag jacket, Janet Jackson’s …, and now, Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl jeans. There’s an iconic moment for every Super Bowl Halftime show, and this year we were graciously delivered another one thanks to K Dot and his bell bottoms jeans.
The 17-time Grammy-award-winning rapper who has sold more than 50 million records worldwide wore a pair of Celine Marco Jeans (AUD$1,700) in a Dark Union Wash for his Super Bowl Halftime show performance that included a Serena Williams C-Walk and plenty of Drake disses.
Originally intended for women, the 5’6″ (1.68 m) rapper had no trouble squeezing into the size 29 jeans that were originally for Timothée Chalamet, according to sources at Page Six. Let’s take a closer look!

Lamar’s jeans were a fashion statement, but they were not entirely unexpected to those who have followed the fashion side of hip-hop for the last few years.
Recently, this style of “Flared Leg” taper has become more and more popular with some of the biggest names in the industry. Those who have added bootlegs to their wardrobe include Lil Baby, Gunna, and Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director and 13-time Grammy-winning artist, Pharrell Williams, who has been earmarked as the creator of the trend.
Lamar chose to rock them with a pair of retro Nike Air DT Max ’96s in a Colorado colourway, but you could just as easily wear some oversized designer sneakers from Prada, Balenciaga, and even adidas, like Gunna and Pharrell have done in the images below. Most importantly, what you don’t want to do is rock these with small, football-inspired sneakers like the adidas Samba as they’ll be hidden and ruin the silhouette.
Lastly, keep in mind your body type. Flared jeans are an extension of the skinny jeans era, and they’re best suited to a man with a slender build, skinny legs, and a shorter torso. When choosing a size, they need to break just above your sneakers and look for a low to mid-rise. Perfect for a short-king!

Launchmetrics estimates that the Celine Marco Jeans earned Celine more than $2 million in media value following Lamar’s on-stage appearance.
Publications online are reporting that the jeans have sold out. However, we can see that they’re still available online at Celine Australia at the time of publishing this article for a cool AUD$1,700. If you want to pick up a pair for yourself they’re available in women’s sizes 24-32.
