Mercedes-Benz collaborated with Silver Arrows Marine to design their first yacht, the Arrow460- Granturismo, which was just shown off at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Nicknamed the Silver Arrow of the Seas after Mercedes 1930’s racing cars, she looks like a cross between a yacht and sleek roadster. She blends the latest innovations in boating with the most potent sports car. At 1.6 million USD, the Granturismo is one of the most expensive yachts in the world.
The Arrow460 has plenty of power thanks to 960 horsepower, which is supplied by a pair of Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesel engines. This results in a top speed of 40 knots.
The Arrow460 measures 14 meters long and combines the seclusion of a hull cabin cruiser with the fun of an open-top yacht. The large windows located over the cabin are tinted and can be raised. This makes you feel like you are outside—without having to worry about the wind interfering. Fine grain eucalyptus wood is used as a floor and wall covering. This gives the yacht the ambience of a luxurious ballroom.
The Arrow460 is suited for both overnight stays or day trips. She is equipped with air conditioning and can accommodate ten passengers. The master cabin features a separate dressing area. Other features include expandable beds and tables, ice maker and a wine cellar.
Mercedes-Benz said that they only plan to produce 10 of these super luxurious yachts and sales will be limited to one per country, which will make this yacht a highly sought-after collector’s item.
