ASUS ZenBook Flip S is the “World’s Thinnest OLED Convertible Laptop”
ASUS has unveiled the slick ZenBook Flip S, which the tech brand is describing as the world’s thinnest OLED convertible laptop. The Flip S measures in at 13.9 mm thin and weighs a mere 1.2 kg. Looking at the tech specs, the laptop doesn’t appear to sacrifice performance for portability.
Featuring a 4K UHD OLED NanoEdge Pantone-validated touchscreen, you can expect content to possess deep blacks and exceptional contrast. The Flip S also supports the new ASUS Pen stylus with 4096 pressure levels.

ZenBook Flip S has a premium design, featuring a Jade Black finish with Red Copper diamond-cut highlights and a brushed-aluminium deco bar. The 360-degree ErgoLift hinge allows the laptop to be used in laptop, tablet, stand and tent modes—so there’s an option for pretty much every possible use. Like with previous ZenBooks, the trackpad doubles as a numberpad, and the new edge-to-edge keyboard design provides space for convenient extra function keys down the right-hand side.
At max hardware specs, Flip S is powered by the latest 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Iris X graphics, combined with up to 16 GB RAM and up to a 1 TB SSD. The high-capacity battery lasts for up to 15 hours—so enough for even the longest working day. The fast-charge technology recharges the battery to 60% capacity in as little as 49 minutes.
ASUS ZenBook Flip S is shaping up to be a great all-rounder. We just need to wait until November-ish before ASUS reveals the price and release date. The Flip S was just part of ASUS’s laptops announcement, but also our favourite. The convertible nature makes it perfect for both work and play.
Everything else ASUS is bringing our way is described as the world’s smallest or lightest in one aspect or another. There’s a ZenBook S which is comparable to the Flip in design and performance but without being convertible. ZenBook Pro 15 is the high-performance 15-inch laptop elevated by its ScreenPad which sees the trackpad double as a secondary display for quick access to supported apps.
There’s also a 14-inch ZenBook for those who like a little more portability, and the ExpertBook B9 is a 14-inch business laptop that has a few impressive key features. We’re talking noise-cancelling audio for video conferencing, digital security software, military-grade durability and a battery that’s said to last for days between charges.
Expect to hear more on all of these new ASUS laptops towards the tail end of 2020.
