In the fourth instalment of the Thor franchise, we see Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster upgraded to a superhero as The Mighty Thor. Furthermore, fans are introduced to Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. The terrifying villain is seen giving an ominous warning of what’s to come when he announces: “All gods will die”. The trailer also sees the movie’s co-writer/director Taiki Waititi return as the lovable Korg, with more footage of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Russell Crowe’s Zeus.
Thor: Love and Thunder takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which saw Thor take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy, leaving Valkyrie at the helm of New Asgard. On a soul searching mission, he encounters Gorr the God Butcher and must call on his allies and friends for the ensuing war. The film features members of the Guardians crew, including Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan. There are also cameos from Jeff Goldblum, Matt Damon, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill. Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 8.
