Season five of Yellowstone thrusts viewers back into the world of the Duttons, with family patriarch John seemingly taking over the reins as governor of Montana after a bitter feud with adopted son Jamie. First teased with a trailer entitled ‘Power has a Price’, the storyline continues a long-held power struggle between the two, which could lead to some dire consequences. Elsewhere, Caroline is making good on her promise to crush Beth and send her to the slammer, while a few new faces are also set to enter the fold.

The latest instalment arrives almost a year after season four finished up, leaving fans on a knife’s edge. Much like the entire series itself, the cliffhanger finale played its card close to its chest, leading to an enormous ratings result for ViacomCBS Media Networks. The record-breaking season five finale garnered over 15 million total viewers, with the season premiere expected to deliver similar results.
