The Gymkhana YouTube series has been a phenomenal success, with viewers in the hundreds of millions. Plenty of companies have taken note, such as Monster Energy and Ford. And now LEGO. The LEGO Technic Ford Mustang Hoonicorn. The seventh film of the series featured the Hoonicorn—a first generation Ford Mustang with twin turbos, all-wheel drive, and almost 900 horsepower.
Seeing that video, Lachlan Cameron was inspired to build his own version of the Hoonicorn in LEGO Technic form. The build uses the wheels from the 42083 Bugatti Chiron set, and then dresses up the Hoonicorn with accurate decals. The model also uses the Technic “Supercar” chassis, which, just like the source car, features all-wheel drive.
It also has all-wheel independent suspension and a chromed out V8 engine complete with two turbos. The model also comes with red shifter switches for high and low speed. A working steering wheel and steering are also a part, along with opening doors, trunk, and hood. The car is completely remote controlled, so while it may not be able to keep up with the real Hoonicorn, you’ll still be able to enjoy driving this model around.
