When we think of Aston Martin, we think of Sean Connery leaning against a DB5 or Daniel Craig driving its wheels off with machine guns sprouting from everywhere. However, a bonkers track-only motorcycle is something that we don’t expect but that’s exactly what the blokes of Aston Martin and Brough Superior have conjured up. This isn’t the first Aston Martin hyperbike though as the AMB 001 Pro track bike follows after the AMB 001. In essence, this is a hardcore, track-only version that turns the volume right up in terms of being an extreme engineering exercise on two wheels.
Revealed at EICMA, the Milan Motorcycle Show, the AMB 001 Pro is suitably bonkers being made with exotic materials and sitting on racing tyres. It’s all form meets function though as the downforce has been considerably increased via the front spoiler and side wings plus with the front cowl now fixed to the bodywork, there is better management of downforce at the front end of the motorcycle. A tunnel effect air blade directs air over the rider while a rear fin with an aero stabilizer design further shows its aerodynamic prowess.
The bright racing livery that the AMB 001 Pro has combined Aston Martin Verdant Jade with satin-finished carbon fibre and black Cerakote engine and suspension. Photon Lime accents are also sprinkled generously being a nod to Aston Martin‘s bloodline of track racers. The dual-cylinder 997cc engine generates more power now at around 225bhp and that’s a scary number since the bike only weighs 175kgs. There is also a new cylinder design that aids in better cooling.
The AMB 001 Pro is inspired by the Valkyrie AMR Pro hypercar and follows its extreme philosophy of lightness mixed with lots of power. It is a carbon-fibre sculpture that is fit for James Bond on a track day while also looking good enough to be displayed at an Art Museum. Only 88 of these two-wheeled wonders would be built with deliveries starting from Q4 2023.
