iOttie iON Wireless Duo | Image: iOttie

1. iOttie iON Wireless Duo

Price: from US$59.95

ProsCons
An affordable option that works for Android and Apple iPhone devices and ticks all the boxes with 10w charging, LED indicator lights, and a 5w charger for accessories such as AirPods, Galaxy Buds, etc.Not the best option for Apple-users as it doesn’t use MagSafe and only charges two devices at once.

One of the best all-round wireless chargers for both Android and Apple devices is the iON Wireless Duo from iOttie. This is a stand-and-pad dual charger with 15w fast wireless charging for Qi-enabled smartphones and a smaller 5w charger for accessories such as Apple AirPods or Samsung Buds. We love the seamless design and choice of colours in either light grey or dark grey fabric.

It’s also a handy charging station for use with Apple’s new ‘StandBy Mode’ thanks to two Qi coils for viewing in both portrait and landscape mode at a 65-degree tilt. Maybe the only downside to this charger is the distinct lack of Apple Watch charging, but in saying that, there’s a better option for Apple users below to charge three devices at once.

2. Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe

Price: from AU$229.95

ProsCons
The best option for Apple iPhone users with MagSafe for StandBy Mode, powerful 15w charging for 3 devices, and tilt-adjustment for optimal viewing. One of the most expensive options on our list, however, it does tick all the boxes for new iPhone users.

Our favourite overall charger for Apple, the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe is the iPhone stand that does it all. Introduced around the launch of the new iPhone 15 line-up, we love this wireless charger because it’s compact, chargers three devices at once (with an included international 40w adaptor), and the vertical mount can rotate and tilt to get the perfect viewing angle for your phone when you’re watching movies or using it in StandBy Mode.

It’s also powerful, feeding 15w of power to your phone, and watch, and 7.5w of power to your AirPods or second phone positioned at the back of the stand.

The overall build quality and design are also top-notch. Made from aluminium, it doesn’t flex through the vertical mount and the magnet that holds your phone in place is very strong. Finally, the vegan leather upholstery covering the base exudes premium quality.

3. Belkin BoostCharge Dual Wireless Charging Pads

Price: from AU$119.95

ProsCons
The best all-round option for those who want a lie-flat wireless charger, this new unit now offers 2x 15w fast charging.Phone sits flat on the charger which means you can’t use ‘StandBy Mode’ if you’re on iPhone.

Another great option for Android and Apple users is this dual wireless charging station from Belkin. The latest update adds 2x15w chargers (the max your phone can charge wirelessly) and it keeps the grippy non-slip design so it doesn’t slide around. Finally, it’s so sleek and minimalist you’ll hardly notice it, which makes it perfect for common areas around your house and your bedside table or nightstand. If you want a more aesthetically pleasing charger, check out the Oakywood Dual Slim Charging Pad below.

Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand | Image: Satechi

4. Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand

Price: from US$99.99

ProsCons
When you combine a 10,000mAH capacity power bank with a built-in, flip-up, wireless charger you have a great travel companion that fits in your pocket.Slower charging compared to dedicated wireless chargers on our list.

The Satechi Duo Stand is a portable power bank (10,000mAH capacity) that has a built-in, flip-up, wireless charger that makes it great for travelling. This lets you take advantage of Apple’s new iOS17 ‘StandBy Mode’ for one, but it works equally as well with Android devices in a vertical orientation. Your phone consumes more power while streaming videos, listening to music, and making video conference calls, and docking your phone on this charger it keeps it topped up and ready to go when you need power.

We also love the fact you can also charge up to three devices at the same time and it’s great for those who are always on the move as it takes up very little space and is small enough to fit in your pocket. Satechi has also incorporated safety features, with foreign object detection (FOD) and protection against overheating. We’d like to see additional

5. Apple MagSafe Charger

Price: from AU$65

ProsCons
Very compact charger that you can use while holding your phone.Won’t stop your phone from moving around while charging unless physically mounted to a surface. A high price to pay for a 15w charging puck.

The Apple MagSafe Charger is a simple wireless charger that you can hold in your hand or place on your bedside table for charging overnight. As is the case with all MagSafe chargers, you’ll have no trouble figuring out how to charge and position your phone as the magnets will align your phone to the correct orientation. Sometimes a simple, functional, and straightforward design is all you need.

6. Twelve South PowerPic Mod Wireless Charger

Price: from AU$99.95

ProsCons
Offers a picture frame function that lets you customise with a 4×6 photo.Only uses a basic 10w charger which is slower than other cheaper options on our list. You’re paying for the picture-frame function.

A great alternative to the Apple MagSafe options listed above is this wireless phone charger from Twelve South that includes a lucite-framed mod customisable with any 4×6 photo or room-matching graphic – think photo frame with in-built charger. It’s a great option for the design-conscious buyer who doesn’t want obvious pieces of technology in their living room. In terms of functions, you’ll find a basic 10w charger and you can choose orientations for your phone in either landscape or portrait.

Oakywood dual slim charging pad
Oakywood Dual Slim Charging Pad | Image: Oakywood

7. Oakywood Dual Slim Charging Pad

Price: from AU$165

ProsCons
The wooden base and design are good-looking but also functional with 15w fast dual-charging.Quite an expensive dual-charger, costs $40 more than the Belkin option that functions the same.

Another charging pad that’s equally as impressive on the aesthetic front, you could be fooled into thinking this was an interior design piece rather than a functional piece of tech. Charge any of your QI-enabled devices in ease and style with the Dual Slim Charging Pad from Oakywood. This device features a sleek, thin wooden base designed to fit up to two devices, and the charger will adjust the charging speed to your device automatically through auto modulation to save your battery from harm. We love how this looks on a desk or at home and it would best suit a design-conscious buyer. If we had to knock something, it’s a more expensive option than the Belkin BoostCharge Dual Wireless Charging Pads above, but it’s certainly better looking.

8. NOMAD Stand One

ProsCons
With 15w fast wireless charging and a cool floating design this is a great option for iPhones with MagSafe support. At $150 you’re paying a pretty penny for this pretty charger.

If you’re on the hunt for a compact wireless charging station that looks great and performs well, check out the Stand One from NOMAD. One of our all-time favourite brands for Apple accessories, the Stand One is a solo wireless charger that delivers official MFi MagSafe fast charging up to 15W and is powered by an integrated 2.0m USB-C cable. Journey rapid trio
Journey Rapid TRIO | Image: Journey

9. Journey Rapid TRIO

Price: from AU$159.95

ProsCons
At under $150 and offering 3-in-1 charging capabilities this is great value-for-money. Easy to find in retail stores and online across Australia. Not a great looking unit in comparison to the Belkin and Satechi options on our list.

One of the best value-for-money options on our list, the Journey Rapid TRIO can be found at retailers in Australia such as JB HI-FI and online through the company’s website. This is a great charging dock that works with Apple’s new StandBy Mode and has the power to charge your Apple iPhone, Airpods, and Watch all at once. Our favourite part about this device is the detachable USB-C Apple Watch charger that can be unplugged from the stand and plugged into a compatible USB-C charging brick when you’re travelling.

Courant CATCH:3 Classic | Image: Courant

10. Courant CATCH:3 Classic

ProsCons
When you add a charger to your favourite valet tray you end up with this device. Nice touch with the extra USB ports and premium leather construction. At US$175 it’s a high price to pay for good-looks and convenience.

The Courant CATCH:3 Classic is perfect for those who love their everyday carry items. It makes space for a dedicated charging section with 10w of Qi fast wireless charging and an accessories storage compartment where you can place your watch, rings, keys, and any other everyday carry pieces you might have lying around. Made from premium pebble-grain Italian leather and matte aluminium alloy, its weighted, non-slip construction doesn’t just look good it has all the functions we look for and even comes with an additional USB-A output and the ability to charge through plastic cases up to 3mm thick. OtterBox 2-in-1 Charging Stand with MagSafe | Image: OtterBox

11. OtterBox 2-in-1 Charging Stand with MagSafe

Price: from AU$185.95

ProsCons
A trusted name in the wireless charging game, this device is priced high for a 2-in-1 but it offers a quality MagSafe connection and charging for your Apple Watch.Cheaper chargers offer similar functions with some like the Twelve South HiRise even offering 3-in-1 charging for slightly more money.

If you want to make the most of the new StandBy mode introduced as part of iOS17 you’ll want to check out this new 2-in-1 charger from Otterbox. It performs like the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 with Mfi Certified MagSafe and offers up to 15w of power to your iPhone and 5w to your AirPods. Still a great option for those who prefer a lie-flat charging pad that takes care of 3 devices at one.Still a great option for those who prefer a lie-flat charging pad that takes care of 3 devices at once.

Just when you thought two were impressive, Belkin has taken it an extra step with a new magnetic fast-charging pad that can charge three devices at once. One of the newer devices we’ve tested, this is a great option for Apple users with MagSafe technology that can charge your AirPods and Apple Watch alongside your iPhone. With fast wireless charging, it can elevate your battery from 0% to 80% in about an hour. We also love the modern, minimalist design with indicator lights for all devices to tell you they’re properly placed and charging. If you’re after something that can roll up for travelling, we recommend the mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe we’ve also listed below.

If money’s no object, the Zens Liberty is the best wireless charger we’ve tested. It uses 16 charging coils so you never have to worry about placement ever again and you can charge three devices at the same time and combine it with the Apple Watch USB stick to recharge your watch in sleep mode. Above all else it looks epic, but if you find it a little too heavy and bulky, there’s a new built-in version available in black and white colours for mounting directly into your desk or benchtop.

Another expensive option that’s exclusively sold through Apple.

If you liked the look of the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 wireless charging pad but you want something compact for travelling, check out this option from mophie as an alternative. Like the Belkin unit, this is a 15w capable charger for your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch, but it packs up into a convenient carrying case for travel and comes with a USB-C cable and wall adapter for plugging in at your final destination. Thanks to the vertical watch mount, it’s a great way to take advantage of Nightstand Mode.

Belkin boostcharge wireless charging stand
Belkin BoostCharge Wireless Charging Stand | Image: Belkin

15. Belkin BoostCharge Wireless Charging Stand

Price: from AU$89.95

ProsCons
A very basic charger that works with Android and Apple iPhones and gets the job done with 15w charging in landscape and portrait orientation.Doens’t offer the picture-frame capability like the Twelve South PowerPic Mod despite the price similarity.

This is our best alternative to the Twelve South PowerPic Mod with a pared-back design that functions the same without the picture frame-style images. Once again, this is a great option for taking advantage of iOS17’s new ‘StandBy Mode’ but it’s equally as useful for watching Netflix and YouTube in bed. In terms of power, you’ll find reliable Qi technology that’s compatible with Android and Apple devices and up to 15w of power for fast wireless charging. Sadly, there’s no wireless bud or watch charging here as the stand is designed to work with smartphones exclusively in landscape and portrait orientation.

NOMAD Base Station | Image: NOMAD

16. NOMAD Base Station

Price: from AU$169.95

ProsCons
A great option for those with older Apple iPhones without MagSafe because it can charge all of your devices at once.Quite a slow charger compared to the other options on our list at just 10w.

Designed to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch on one pad, this is the best wireless charger on our list for those with older iPhones that don’t support MagSafe. It’s efficient with 2x 10w charging coils and the padded leather base is uber-premium in both feel and look. It’s worth noting here that the Apple Watch mount is an optional extra (US$11) but you can also add a USB-C and USB-A powered device to the rear of the charger thanks to these additional ports.

Oakywood 2 in 1 headphones stand
Oakywood 2-in-1 Headphones Stand | Image: Oakywood

17. Oakywood 2-in-1 Headphones Stand

Price: from AU$165

ProsCons
The best way to store your over-ear headphones and charge your smartphone at the same time. Great design that matches other Oakywood products.Complimentary to other chargers by this brand, not a great stand-alone unit with sub-par charging rates and higher price-point.

When you want somewhere to hang your AirPods Max (or any over-ear headphones) and charge your smartphone at the same time, we recommend this option from Oakywood. There’s only a handful of stands like this one on the market, such as this option from Satechi and this gamer-focused option from Razer, but this is our favourite all-rounder. The wide handle allows you to safely hang any headphones while the wooden base offers charging for your phone. More of a complimentary option to other options on our list, we wouldn’t recommend this as your only stand-alone solution.

Compatibility: Apple and Android devices (non-metal cases up to 4mm thick)

Kew labs uts 1
Kew Labs UTS-1 | Image: Kew Labs

18. Kew Labs UTS-1

Price: from US$169.95

ProsCons
Invisible, adhesive, no cut design that works through desks 10mm-17mm thick.Hard to find in Australia and very expensive when you do.

The wireless charger in the Kew Labs UTS-1 is strong enough to reach through desks 10mm-17mm thick and charge your phone invisibly. This is a great option for those with too much clutter on their desk because while most wireless chargers have a sleek design that makes a nice addition to a surface, Kew Labs have hidden the charger making it entirely cable-free on the surface. Unlike the built-in option from Zens, you don’t have to cut a hole in your desk to make it work. Simply peel back the adhesive tape and stick it to the underside of your desk, you can even daisy-chain multiple chargers together. Finally, we were really impressed by the magnetic hold it was able to generate through our desk, even though you can’t see it!

Compatibility: Apple and Android devices
Charging power: 2x 10w

How We Chose This List

Having covered the best in technology across Man of Many for multiple years, including the testing of numerous wireless chargers over the decade, authors Ben McKimm and Aimee O’Keefe have selected a list of their favourite devices. This list has been carefully chosen as to include options for both Apple iPhone users with MagSafe and those Android users who also want the benefits of using these chargers.

Alternative Wireless Chargers That Didn’t Make This List

These are the devices we also tested that didn’t make the final cut:

  • Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 (from AU$149.95): When you want style but you need to charge more than one device, check out the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 wireless charger. The design is simple, construction quality is second-to-none, and all the functions are wireless charging up to 15W through a compatible MagSafe dock. Place your phone on the charger, watch for the LED indicator light to turn on, and you’re charging safely and quickly. Unlike several charging stations on our list, there’s an AC adaptor included in the box for convenience. Our only knock with this stand is that you can’t tilt the MagSafe pad like you can with the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe.
  • STM Goods ChargeTree Go (from AU$149.95): The best option on our list for travelling is the STM Goods ChargeTree Go. This charging station can replenish three devices at once, but it also folds flat to not take up too much space in your bag when you’re on the go. The space-saving tech continues with a spring-loaded, retractable Apple Watch charger on the side of the device. Power is supplied via a 20w USB-C charger that’s sold separately and connects via a USB-C to USB-C cable included inside the box.
  • Belkin BoostCharge Wireless Charging Stand (from AU$59.95): Sometimes you just want a simple vertical and horizontal charging stand for your smartphone and that’s where the Belkin BoostCharge Wireless Charging Stand comes in. This is as simple as charging stands get, you don’t need a MagSafe-compatible phone and the charger works with all new Qi-enabled smartphone devices, not just iPhones. Power is only 10w vs. 15-20w available on most chargers on our list, but there’s no arguing with the simplicity of the design and the overall good build quality that’s typical of Belkin products. Once again, you’ll need to supply your AC adaptor.
  • Satechi Aluminum 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand (from AU$99.99): Another great option for the design-conscience buyer is this wireless charging station from Satechi. It sits towards the bottom of our list because the 7.5w of supplied power is half that of the competitors listed above. That being said, the lower AirPods charger is solid with 5w of power. Overall, it’s a good-looking and well-made unit with a combination of solid plastics, weights, and aluminium on the stem.
  • iOttie iON Wireless Mini (from US$44.95): Don’t have much space to work with? Looking for something small and portable to take with you on business trips? The iON Wireless Mini Fast Charging Pad may be the one for you. The compact size of this wireless charger doesn’t mean it lacks power – it boasts the power of Qi wireless fast-charging technology so you can charge your phone without the need for additional cables. Featuring an anti-slip silicone ring, effortlessly charge your device with one compact, sleek device.
  • Google Pixel Stand (2nd Gen) (from AU$120): Whether you’re a pixel owner or not (extra points if you’re) this stand is a great option for your bedside table as it doesn’t have any visible LEDs. Furthermore, it reserves special features for Google Pixel owners, transforming your phone into a whole new device, more akin to the Google Home Pods. You can use Google Assistant hands-free, use your phone as a digital picture frame, and be linked with other devices such as security systems for front door camera viewing. While this wireless charging dock will work with all Qi-compatible devices, you’ll get the most from it with a Google Pixel phone.
  • Anker PowerWave 2 Stand (from AU$99.95): We rate the Anker PowerWave 2 Stand for its versatility – compatible with virtually all Qi-enabled devices including iPhone 11, 11 Pro, Xs, Xs Max, XR, X, 8, Galaxy S10 S9 S8, Note 10 Note 9 and more. It uses smart technology to automatically switch between 5w, 7.5w, 10w, and 15w charging modes depending on your device’s power needs—ensuring optimised wireless charging. The PowerWave II Stand is by far one of the best charging pads out there.
  • Native Union Drop XL Wireless Charger (from AU$160): Charge all your devices (up to three at once) with the Native Union Drop XL Wireless Charger thanks to an expanded wireless surface and an extra USB-A port. Grounded in a thoughtful design crafted with a weighted aluminium base and non-slip silicone tread means your changing pads look good and your device stays in place. The thing we love most about this charging pad is its foreign object detection and thermal protection capabilities, ensuring safe charging and making sure no rogue items get placed on the prized charging pad! It is also available with an Apple Watch Charger.

Things You Should Consider Before Purchase

1. The Type of Charger You Need

There are two main fields of wireless charging that your phone will fall into either Qi or MagSafe charging. Qi is offered with most phones and is supported by all major phone brands, including Apple. That being said, if you’re an iPhone user, we recommend choosing a MagSafe charger as these are universal and can be used across a range of different chargers. Here’s everything you need to know:

Qi (pronounced ‘chee’): This is the charging technology offered by most phones. Built into the phone itself, Qi wireless chargers are more energy-efficient than standard charging methods. The Qi technology is also smaller, making for more compact chargers. While otherwise a perfectly simple and effective way of wirelessly charging your devices, Qi charging has the minor downside of having to be placed in a specific way on a charging station. Any misplacement or minor movement will cancel out the wireless charging.

MagSafe: This is Apple’s evolution of the Qi technology, originally debuting with their iPhone 12. What makes MagSafe different is the ring of magnets inside the phone and the compatible charging station, locking the two devices together in the necessary position to charge. Along with solving the Qi chargers one fault, the MagSafe chargers are often more powerful. Conveniently, an iPhone with MagSafe technology can still be charged on a Qi wireless charger, and vice versa.

2. The Power of the Charger

Always consider the wattage (which is the strength of the charging power) when choosing your charging pad. The higher the wattage, the quicker your devices will charge. If you value quick and efficient charging, then ensure you get a charging pad with 10w power or higher.

3. Where You’re Going to Use the Charger

Most chargers mentioned have a sleek and minimalist design, some are small while others are large. Take into account your set-up and whether the charger you choose will integrate nicely into your workspace or home. If you don’t want your charger to stand out or be visible, consider getting one that is small or can go underneath a desk. If you want your wireless charger to become a design element, consider choosing one with a unique and designer look.

Answering Your FAQs

Will a wireless charger damage my phone’s battery?

No, if the heat is contained and doesn’t exceed safe limits, it poses no direct threat to your phone’s battery.

Will a cable charge my phone faster?

Generally speaking, cables will charge your phone faster than a wireless charger.

Does my phone case work with a wireless charger?

It depends on the wireless charger, however, most charging pads can be used through cases up to three millimetres thick. It’s best to avoid aluminium cases.

How do I know if my phone works with a wireless charger?

Check the wireless chargers list of compatible devices. Also, check your phone’s user manual in the ‘battery’ section. If wireless charging is mentioned or has instructions on how to use Qi charging, then your phone supports it.
