Welcome to Sneaker News #68. This week, it’s all about the Nike Air Force 1 with a number of twists on the classic silhouette. Both Billie Eilish and UNDERCOVER have offered a new take on the shoes but if you’re not an Air Force fan there’s plenty more to feast your eyes on. AMBUSH and Nike have teamed up once again for another visionary silhouette. Meanwhile, Vans Vault have joined forces with LA’s Palm Angels while adidas is unexpectedly bringing South Park to the Campus 80s. Check that all out plus more below.

Nike Air Force 1 Billie ‘Sequoia’
Billie Eilish and Nike’s collaborative powers are unlocked once again with another new Air Force 1 drop. As always with Eilish, the colours are muted and refined this time going for a moss-green aesthetic. The silhouette, however, does not play it safe. It plays with the classic Air Force 1, adding four extra straps with metal hardware. Eilish is always focused on sustainability and these shoes boast at least 8% Nike Grind material in the outsole and soft, synthetic nubuck leather. adidas Originals NMD V3
The long-awaited return of the adidas NMD finally lands this week and the famed fashion label pulled out all the stops. The new NMD V3 silhouette takes a reimagined approach to the classic sneaker, arriving with a re-engineered mesh that wraps around the foot, along with a transparent heel clip and BOOST cushioning. Up top, the NMD V3 cops an upper made with a high-performance yarn which, much like the Superstars released earlier this year, contains at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic and 50% recycled polyester. To kick off the campaign, adidas tapped multi-platinum ARIA Award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Ruel as the face of the local campaign. The new NMD V3 launches on October 10, you can check them out via the adidas store.
Nike Air Adjust Force x AMBUSH ‘Light Madder Root and Burgundy Crush’
AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn and Nike join forces once again for another silhouette-bending collaboration. This latest pair bridges together the basketball court and the runway, pairing performance with premium materials. The upper is made up of full-grain leather while the midfoot strap adds flair and support. the Light Madder Root and Burgundy Crush colourway is also a head-turner making these one of the most captivating drops of the year. adidas Campus 80s South Park Towlie
You’re going down to South Park with the latest iteration the adidas’ Campus 80s – a shoe which is having a resurgence this year. The talking Towlie from South Park has been reimagined in shoe form with an upper made from towel. The tongue is adorned with eyes to help bring the shoe to life but it’s not just about novelty factor. These shoes are also equipped with a small hook-and-loop pocket on the inside of the tongue to help you store bits and pieces while you’re on the go. They are selling quickly so you’ll have to head to adidas quickly to see if you can snag any remaining pairs.
Nike Air Force 1 Low x UNDERCOVER ‘White’
Another Air Force 1 collaboration this week comes courtesy of UNDERCOVER. UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi has reimagined the Air Force 1 for the trail adding in a waterproof GORE-TEX fabric sleeve and a full ankle lacing system for support. These may be made to take on the conditions but they’re also fashion-forward thanks to a utilitarian finish complete with metal dubraes, pull tabs on the heel and a plastic tongue logo. Nike Lunar Force 1 Duckboot ‘Limestone’
Australia is being hit with constant rain at the moment which may make the Nike Lunar Force 1 Duckboot the perfect shoe. Water-repellent synthetic leather and a rugged outsole design makes these shoes ready to take on any sort of terrain or weather. Metal hardware and an extended tongue also ensure that you’re looking fresh while doing so. The Lunar Force 1 is a take on the Air Force 1 meaning you can count on durability and comfort. 11th October is the date you need to pop into your calendar.
Vans Vault x Palm Angels SK8-Hi Reissue LX
Vans Vault has teamed up with LA’s Palm Angels to reimagine the SK8-Hi. The silhouette remains intact but it’s all about the detailing here. Canvas uppers meet plush red suede overlays as the Palm Angels branding is taped across them. A translucent midsole only adds to the reconstructed look of the shoes. You can also customise yourself with the option to replace the white lacing with brown leather. Head over to Subtype now to secure a pair.
adidas Orketo ‘Whitin / Cry White’
adidas is going for ’90s nostalgia with its latest running shoe Orketo. A mesh and suede upper is met by metallic overlays which complete the ’90s futurism look. It’s a lightweight running shoe underpinned by premium rubber outsoles for performance. Like running shoes by Asics and Salomon, these are the kind of shoes that you could smash out some miles in or wear them to catch eyes in the street. Head over to Adidas to cop the latest colourway.
