adidas Archive M1 Watch Harkens Back to a Simpler Digital Era

Sportswear brand adidas is always ready to embrace a little vintage style. For proof, look no further than their new Archive M1 Watch. The design is directly inspired by early digital watches, and thereby rocking a classic ’70s aesthetic. That said, each piece still manages to exude plenty of modern flair. Accordingly, the watches are simple, sporty, and sturdy, standing out from the herd by scaling things back.

Included in the line-up is an all-black edition and a gold/black edition. Both entries host custom module movement, a stainless steel case with hardened mineral crystal, a 5 link stainless steel bracelet, and a digital display. Like so much of adidas gear, each model is timelessly familiar and iconic. That is, the aesthetic does’t feel resurrected as much as it feels like something that never went out of style in the first place. Pair the watch with a full adidas get-up and prove once and for all that the brand stays cool by sticking close to its roots, decade after decade.
