John Wick Prequel Series ‘The Continental’ Checks-In With an Action-Packed Trailer
Feast your eyes on the first teaser trailer for The Continental, an upcoming John Wick spin-off prequel TV series that will explore the lesser-known side of the exclusive hotel that acts as a refuge for the various professional assassins and show us how Winston Scott rose to his position as proprietor of the establishment. Serving as a prequel to the film’s events, Keanu Reeves‘ Wick character won’t be involved; however, thanks to all the rouge butchery and hardcore action, his absence is not felt in any way whatsoever.

The upcoming spin-off will explore how The Continental Hotel got its legendary status. The official synopsis reads, “The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centrepiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”
Well-known characters from the franchise, such as Winston Scott (played by Ian McShane in the movies) are back but will be depicted in their younger years with the series being set in the mid-1970s New York City. The killer cast for The Continental includes Mel Gibson, Collin Woodell as young Winston Scott, Peter Greene, Ben Robson, Ayomide Adegun as the young concierge Charon, Nhung Kate and Katie McGrath. Albert Hughes will direct the first and last episode of ‘The Continental,’ with Charlotte Brandstom directing the second. Hughes also serves as an executive producer on the project, while Greg Coolidge, Derek Kolstad, Shawn Simmons and Kirk Ward are the writers of the show. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and Thunder Road Pictures.
Judging by the brief teaser, it seems like we are in for an action-packed staycation when The Continental drops on Peacock later in September this year.
