Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds Spread Christmas Cheer in ‘Spirited’ Teaser Trailer

Apple TV+ is giving the gift of laughter this Christmas, bringing together icons Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds for a holiday musical comedy set to premiere on November 18. Titled Spirited, the Apple Original just unveiled the first teaser trailer, and it’s everything you’d expect: hilarious and wholesome. While this isn’t the first time Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol has been adapted for the big screen, the streaming service assures fans the next iteration of the story is particularly unique.

'Spirited' Trailer Apple TV+

Ferrell and Reynolds will star alongside award-winning actress Octavia Spencer (The Help). Behind the scenes, Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home) will direct the film, which has been penned by Anders and John Morriss. Crafting the original songs is Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land), with production numbers choreographed by Chloe Arnold (The Late Late Show with James Corden).

The official synopsis for the movie, reads: “Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself re-examining his own past, present and future. For the first time, ‘A Christmas Carol’ is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.”

Apple TV+ is scheduled to release Spirited globally on November 18. Check out the trailer above.
