Nike is launching a footwear collaboration with gaming publisher EA Sports, bringing football and FIFA 19 fans the EA Sports x PhantomVSN boot. This PhantomVSN was designed as a testament to passionate footballers, and the millions of FIFA fans worldwide.
The reflective graphic on the boot’s upper is inspired by console controller buttons. You can make out PlayStation’s x, circle, square and triangle buttons as well as an Xbox controller’s A, B, X and Y. The EA Sports logo appears on the boot’s tongue and accompanying shoebox.
Other features include “Ghost Laces” which tighten with one pull and stay hidden. They provide cleaner contact and precision on the ball. The Seamless “Quadfit” mesh hugs the foot without constricting it, so it feels broken-in straight out of the box. The Flyknit upper is designed with different textures for receiving, passing and shooting.
The boot is also available to wear within FIFA 19, and it will be worn on the real-world pitch by Kevin De Bruyne, Fran Kirby and Federico Bernardeschi.
The Nike EA Sports x PhantomVSN is available from December 12 in the UK where it retails for £240. There’s currently no word on US or AUS pricing for the real-word boot.
