Looks like Nike’s timing is still impeccable. In the midst of people trying to figure out workouts at home, Nike is releasing their first-ever indoor cycling shoe. The Nike SuperRep Cycle is designed to provide both stability and breathability, whether you’re on or off the bike.
The SuperRep Cycle uses a lightweight, translucid mesh on the upper with a perforated sock liner and vents through the bottom plate for increased airflow around the toes. The results is a more comfortable fit that eliminates the heavy, wet feeling after a hot, sweaty cycling session. The shoes also address lateral and out of the seat movement with a support arc on the medial side to help keep your feet secure while doing out of the saddle work, such as Figure 8s and side-to-side combinations. Getting the shoes on and off is also simplified thanks to the new closure system. The shoes work with either caged or clip-in pedals. They also feature rubber studs and a textured toe plate for traction when not on the bike.
The shoes come in neon orange and pink as an exclusive colourway for the ladies, as well as a classic black and white colourway. The SuperRep Cycle is already available in Europe and on nike.com, with a member release happening in North America at the end of May. The global release is scheduled for June 1.
The SuperRep Cycle is just one of the members of the new Nike SuperRep family. The suite of footwear also includes a shoe for High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), the Nike Air Zoom SuperRep; and a shoe for self-guided exercise in smaller paces, the Nike SuperRep Go.
