- Disney+ has confirmed The Bear season four release date as 26 June 2025.
- All 10 episodes will be available at once on Disney+ in Australia.
- The Emmy Award-winning series stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Critically acclaimed kitchen drama The Bear is set to return for season four, much earlier than expected. Streaming service Disney+ has confirmed that Christopher Storer’s Emmy Award-winning hit is slated for a 26 June 2025 release date, with all 10 episodes to land on the platform at once. The announcement comes less than a year after the season three premiere, bucking the trend for lengthy wait times between volumes.

The Bear Season 4 Release Date
The Bear season four will premiere on June 26 at 10am AEST, accounting for the June 25, 8pm ET timeslot in the United States. Disney+ has confirmed that all ten episodes will be dropped at the same time, meaning you can binge the whole season in one sitting, rather than having to wait for drip-fed weekly instalments.
It’s worth noting that, unlike season four, there has been no early renewal confirmation regarding a fifth instalment. However, showrunners Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo have previously outlined that the series does have plans to reach completion, rather than run on forever. With the cast and crew steadily growing in popularity and lead actors Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri working on large-scale film projects, it’s likely that The Bear‘s seasons are numbered.
White is set to star as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere, while Edebiri has nabbed a role alongside Woody Harrelson, Rebecca Hall and fellow The Bear cast-member Jamie Lee Curtis in James L. Brooks’ new film, Ella McCay. Of course, breakout star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is locked into a franchise beast, with roles in The Fantastic Four, Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: Doomsday to drop over the next three years.

The Bear Production Update
The upcoming instalment of The Bear comes off the back of a stellar few years for the kitchen drama/comedy. Created by Christopher Storer, who serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube, The Bear has enjoyed massive critical and commercial success.
Named an AFI Television Program of the Year in each of its first three seasons, the FX series recently nabbed a record 11 Emmy Awards for its second season, the most for a comedy series ever in a single year. As a result, distributor Disney+ quickly moved to capitalise on the breakout success of the FX-produced series and its highly talented cast. In March 2024, before the third season had even premiered, network FX confirmed that a fourth instalment had been officially greenlit, with filming to occur back-to-back. A subsequent interview with lead actor Jeremy Allen White in August 2024 revealed that further filming had been slated for February or March 2025.
“I’m not sure exactly when. I know it’s not going to be until next year. I imagine sometime early next year, a similar start date to the last couple of years: February/March time,” White told Esquire UK at the time.
The actor’s sentiments were echoed just a few months later when John Landgraf, chairman of FX networks, told Deadline that the team had “finished most of it. We haven’t finished all of it, but we finished most of it, and it will be ready same time next year.”
For fans, the season four release date marks a major development, landing just 12 months after season three. In recent years, wait times between seasons have swelled significantly, impacted by COVID-related filming restrictions and the fallout from the writers’ strike. Fans of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, for example, have been waiting more than three years for a season five update, while HBO blockbuster Euphoria has had its release date pushed back multiple times, with rumours even suggesting the entire project had been scrapped.

According to The Bear actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Richie, filming seasons three and four back-to-back allowed the production to flow seamlessly, reducing the overall time. In a July 2024 episode of the “Talk Easy With Sam Fragoso” podcast, Moss-Bachrach revealed that certain sections were even filmed concurrently, meaning that production often overlapped and instalments were shot completely out of order.
“Some of these episodes we’re splitting are not making it into two seasons and now we are going to be making 15 or 16 episodes instead of 10. But we’re gonna do it all at the same time,” he said in the podcast.
“I would come in at the beginning of the day and shoot a scene from late in season four and then shoot a scene from early season four and then shoot a scene late in season three. Jeremy, Ayo and I are in a constant state of rereading through the seasons and trying to remember where your person is at.”

The Bear Season 4 Cast
As expected, lead actors Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri will all be returning for the fourth season, alongside a host of recurring favourites and series regulars. Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson have all been confirmed, along with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

The Bear Season 4 Synopsis
A culinary drama, The Bear focuses on a talented but troubled chef, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, who, after the death of his older brother Mikey, returns to Chicago to take over his ailing family sandwich shop. Armed with a Michelin-star approach and extensive knowledge of fine dining, Carmy begrudgingly inherits the misfit team of chefs, servers, and staff, setting the stage for the modernisation and improvement of the restaurant.
At the end of season three, the restaurant is again in jeopardy, with mounting financial troubles threatening to derail the enterprise. With Carmy just trying to keep his head above water and the fear of a negative review weighing heavily on his mind, the season ends with a rather blunt assessment of the experience; the result of which is yet to be seen. Meanwhile, second in command, Sydney, struggles to come to terms with her situation, failing to tell Carmy that she is set to leave The Bear to join Chef Shapiro on a new opportunity.
While no concrete details have been revealed about season four, Disney+ has released an official synopsis for the upcoming instalment. It reads: “With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better – it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to.”
