“When I lose control, bad things happen. But it feels good.”
No, I’m not talking about a night on the Bundys at Penrith Panthers, though when it comes to feeling like a superhero that does come close. I am, of course, referring to the latest instalment in the hugely successful X-Men films franchise from 20th Century Fox. X-Men: Dark Phoenix, is the twelfth and final X-Men story offering from the studio, closing off the seven-part main series.
The film, which is written and directed by Simon Kinberg, also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. The story is a direct continuation from the previous chapter, X-Men: Apocalypse, and will see the entire team of X-Men face the wrath of ‘Phoenix’, played by Sophie Turner.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be in Australian cinemas from June 6.
