A$AP Rocky’s $462,000 Bejewelled Belt at Super Bowl LVII Steals the Show

Super Bowl LVII was a night of drama, excitement, and, of course, dazzling drip. As the eyes of the world were fixed on the biggest event in American sport, two of the brightest stars in the music industry, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, made their own impact with their unforgettable fashion choices. While Rihanna may have been the one to steal the show with her electrifying halftime performance, her partner and soon-to-be father of two wasn’t about to be outdone in the style stakes. Shine bright like a diamond, A$AP.

A$AP Rocky, the suave rapper and style icon, had eyes on him as he stepped out in his custom Jeff Hamilton jacket, a nod to the occasion, his love, and his country. The jacket was the ultimate fusion of football, Rihanna, and patriotism, with the front featuring stars and stripes and the back sporting a city skyline with a picture of Rihanna holding a football, just like the one used to announce her halftime show back in September. The NFL was so impressed with the jacket that they took to Instagram to give it their seal of approval, with a video caption that read, “A$AP’s jacket is EVERYTHING.”

But the show-stopping piece of the night was undoubtedly Rocky’s custom Alex Moss belt, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that reportedly took four months to create and came with a hefty price tag of $322,000 (AU$462,000). The buckle spelled out “GRIM” in 18k white gold, diamonds, rubies, and more, with a design inspired by R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps logo for the “G” and the Monster Energy logo for the “M.” The belt was a Gucci monogram design topped with coloured stones, making for a bold look only a Fashion Killa could pull off.

Rocky’s Super Bowl style was not limited to just his jacket and belt; he also added some sparkle with his oversized gold necklaces, one of which was a bejewelled cross and another inspired by a Lego minifigure. He finished off his look with a Fenty cap, a nod to his girlfriend, and an American flag bandana, adding a patriotic touch. He kept the rest of his outfit simple with a white tank top and cargo pants.

On the other hand, Rihanna used the Super Bowl as an opportunity to showcase her favourite designers, wearing a Loewe flight suit, a leather Alaïa coat, and sneakers from Maison Margiela’s Salomon collaboration. To complete her look, she added a Jacob & Co. watch with a crimson skeleton dial, making her the undisputed style queen of the night.

As A$AP Rocky stood alongside his partner on the field at Super Bowl LVII, he had much to be proud of. Not only had he welcomed his first child into the world just a few months prior in May, but he is also putting the finishing touches on his highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Don’t be Dumb. And if that wasn’t enough to make the Praise the Lord rapper’s heart swell with joy, a representative for Rihanna confirmed that the couple would soon be expanding their family with a second baby on the way.
