Nike Adds GORE-TEX to Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GTX

Good ideas don’t go unwasted. It started out with adidas wrapping their Originals Stan Smith shoes with a GORE-TEX upper. Now Nike is following suit, adding the resilient material to their Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GTX.

The Zoom Pegasus 36 keeps the same running silhouette, but adds in the weatherproof upper. The outsole presents a more rugged, trail running appropriate appearance. In the midsole, Nike added in more cushion to make your run more comfortable. The heel and forefoot have a springy feel as well to help give back some of the energy you invest in your run. Nike also widened out the forefoot to provide a roomier fit.

Adding in GORE-TEX ensures that your run won’t be interrupted by soggy feet. The weatherized material will keep moisture out, thus keeping your feet dry. The aggressive traction pattern will also help to keep you on sure footing as you conquer the trails.

Nike is releasing the shoe in two different colorways. The first is a Black and Thunder Grey mix that make the shoe have a glow-in-the-dark effect even in full light. The other colorway is what Nike is calling Galactic Jade—a shade of green that is accented by the orange sole. Juniper fog and khaki further add accents to the shoe. The shoes are marked at $160.
