Nike has just launched its new football boot in Australia the Tiempo Legend 8 which combines the timeless Tiempo leather exterior with a highly modernised interior to deliver what the sports brand describes as a technical beast of a boot.
The boots upper is made of the same premium leather Tiempo is famous for and retains the Hyperstability plate appreciated by players. Beyond these few staples, Nike has gone all-out to enhance the Tiempo in 2019.
Nike’s Sport Research Lab data found that Flyknit hugging a boot’s arch makes a player feel more secure, so a new Flyknit Fit Tunnel was created to provide a supportive, snug fit around the midfoot. The Flyknit tunnel is complemented by Quadfit mesh in the forefoot that stretches in four directions to accommodate any foot shape, while simultaneously preventing overstretching of the outer leather layer.
The distinct stitchless quilted diamond pattern on the upper helps keep water and mud from seeping in and avoids the tiny perforations to the leather that would occur in traditional stitching. The small side of the Tiempo features Nike React foam. Tiempo branding is found on the heel, and a large Nike Swoosh stretches from the outer side and crosses the heel.
The Nike Tiempo Legend 8 is available now in a black colourway with blue detailing and white colour with reflective detailing. The boots are priced at RRP $270.
You may have come across images on the internet of the Tiempo Legend 8 in a dazzle camo colourway. It’s the black and white pattern often seen on prototype vehicles before a motor company is ready for an official reveal. By popular demand, this dazzle camo look will be available in limited-edition at a later date.
In other Nike news, the Air Max 270 React is the first Nike lifestyle shoe to feature the trademark Air Unit. Plus, you can channel your inner 80’s fanboy with a Stranger Things collab dropping June 27.
