Celebrating the 55th anniversary of its Carrera watch series, TAG Heuer has unveiled a new collection for 2018, plus details of an impressive, yet pricey limited edition $27,000 timepiece.
Named after the legendary “Carrera Panamericana” Mexico road race, the new Carrera collection consists of 15 stylish watches with offerings for both ladies and gents. Each watch channels TAG Heuer’s bold aesthetic, complemented by a polished steel or titanium case, reputable movement developed in-house and water resistance to 100m.
At the centre of this collection, is the TAG Heuer Carrera “Tête de Vipère” Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer. (It’s a mouthful). This special edition is limited to 155 pieces worldwide and is the first time a TAG Heuer watch has received the prestigious “Tête de Vipère” stamp of excellence, awarded by the Besançon Observatory in France. Since 2006, only 500 watches around the world have received this certification. This timepiece will be available from September and set you back AUD $26,750.
Surprisingly, it’s not even the most expensive watch in the collection. That honour goes to the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02 Tourbillon priced just over 31k. Whether you’re looking to spend $3,000 or $31,000, there are a lot of lovely luxury watches to choose from.
Created by Jack Heuer in 1963, the classic, yet contemporary Carrera is the cornerstone of TAG Heuer and we suspect will remain so for years to come. Head over to the official site to see the full collection.
