Attention, all couch potatoes. Even though you may be experiencing withdrawals from shows like Billions and Yellowstone, Stan is still delivering some (mild) heat in March 2023. While it may not be the most exciting drop of content we’ve ever seen, thE NEW lineup of TV shows and movies will still help you forget you have a life beyond your living room. From a gut-wrenching exposé on sex trafficking to a brand new comedy series featuring the one and only Bob Odenkirk, there’s still a little promise on the horizon. So, put on your sweatpants, grab some snacks, and prepare to kiss your productivity goodbye. Here’s everything new that’s coming to Stan in March 2023.

Our Thoughts on Stan Australia’s March 2023 Lineup?

Well, it seems like March 2023 isn’t exactly Stan Australia’s moment to shine. In fact, it’s more like a moment to shrug and say, “meh”. The good news is that those who’ve been glued to Your Honor and Wu-Tang: An American Saga can indulge in these two slightly above-average shows as they wrap up their respective seasons. But let’s be real, they’re not going to be the talk of the town. However, Bob Odenkirk’s brand-new series Lucky Hank has us slightly aroused and we will definitely give it a chance.

When it comes to movies, it’s a bit of a wasteland. The Dry and Shazam! are like two pearls in an ocean of pebbles. However, they’re definitely worth your time and attention. If you’re a documentary buff, then you might want to keep your expectations in check. Unless you’re dying to know how the Kardashians made their billions, there’s not much else on offer. Revealed: Traffied, Gasland and Attacking Life are three documentaries worth keeping an eye on. The latter follows the incredible journey of an Australian shark attack victim, so prepare to be terrified of ever entering the ocean.

All things considered, Stan Australia’s offerings in March 2023 will have just enough to get you through those lonely Autumn nights. While that may sound harsh, we definitely won’t be ditching our subscription anytime soon though.

Best On Stan Australia In March 2023: Our Must-Watch Selections

The Dry (March 1)

Are you feeling thirsty for some quality Australian cinema? Well, look no further than The Dry – one of the best flicks to come out of Down Under in recent years. Sadly, until now, only the lucky Netflix Australia subscribers could watch this nail-biting mystery drama from Robert Connolly but the film has finally made its way to Stan and it’s definitely worth a good binge-watch. With not much else to watch on Stan this month, it’s the perfect time to cozy up and transport yourself to country Victoria. And let’s be honest, with Eric Bana as Federal Agent Aaron Falk leading the charge to investigate a murder, what more could you ask for?

Lucky Hank (March 20)

Stan will be praying it gets lucky with Lucky Hank. Starring Bob Odenkirk and produced by the team behind Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad,  this comedy-drama has all the ingredients to be a hit. Follow failed novelist turned unlikely chair of the English department, Hank Devereaux, Jr., as he navigates a midlife crisis while dealing with backstabbing colleagues, crusading students, a flirtatious protégée, a reawakened wife, and a philandering father. We are looking forward to seeing the new series has in store for us.

Dawn of the Dolphins (March 6)

Stan Australia is bringing you another sports documentary in March, but this time it’s about the NRL’s newest team, the Dolphins. In Dawn of the Dolphins, you’ll witness the daunting challenge of building a team from scratch, led by the notoriously private Wayne Bennett. Whether you’re a rugby league fan or not, we’re keen to see if this underdog team can rise to the task, or if they’ll end up floundering in the depths of mediocrity.

Shazam! (March 13)

Although the March 2023 lineup on Stan may leave a bit to be desired, there is a glimmer of hope in the form of Shazam!, one of the less-disappointing DC films of recent years. It may not make you ponder the complexities of the human psyche as Joker did, but hey, at least it’s not a complete snooze-fest. Director David F Sandberg has somehow managed to churn out a decent superhero flick, thanks in no small part to the charming performances of Zachary Levi and Mark Strong.

Attacking Life (March 9)

Stan’s documentaries have been a bit limp lately, but maybe Attacking Life will buck the trend. It’s the uplifting story of surfer Brett Connellan, who survives a shark attack thanks to his quick-witted mate. Brett’s recovery from losing most of his thigh is a journey of mental and physical strength that looks set to have you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

Revealed: Trafficked (March 12)

Award-winning Aussie journalist, Nick McKenzie, is back with another wild story that’s sure to blow your mind. This time, he’s bringing us Revealed: Trafficked, and it looks like a serious eye-opener. In his latest doco, McKenzie dives headfirst into a shocking scandal involving sex trafficking and border security. This story has caused a national uproar, resulting in not one, but two national inquiries. A collaborative project between Stan and some of the biggest news sources in Oz, like 60 Minutes, The Age, and The Sydney Morning Herald, prepare to have your preconceptions challenged.

New On Stan Australia In March 2023

March 2023 on Stan is similar to box of chocolates from Grandma – some will have you wanting more but most will be spit into a napkin. Sure, there are some new shows and movies on the menu, but let’s be real, not all of them are worth sinking your teeth into. While Stan may not have the oomph this month, there are still plenty of older goodies to binge on.
