Presenting the TAG Heuer Bamford Monaco, which represents the first bespoke timepiece produced between TAG Heuer and Bamford Watch Department in 2018. Taking direct cues from the Calibre 11 Monaco–made famous by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film Le Mans–the watch delivers a similar design and even puts original Calibre 11 under the skin. However, distinguishing the new model from its predecessor is a luminous blue colour on the dial and the use of premium carbon on the elegant 39mm case.
As the first square-cased, water-resistant chronograph ever produced, the original Calibre 11 Monaco was a classic right out of the gate. Cementing the piece’s legendary status was its big screen appearance on the wrist of movie star Steve McQueen. Now, the stunning watch is back in its timeless glory with plenty of modern touch-ups. Consider it an instant collectible, not to mention a living testament to TAG Heuer’s past and future relationship with motorsport. Now available for pre-order, the TAG Heuer Bamford Monaco is expected to start shipping this August.
