Best New Series on Netflix

Netflix is kicking off the month with a stacked lineup of must-watch shows. Leading the charge is the long-awaited return of Stranger Things, with the beloved Hawkins crew back to face darker threats and deeper mysteries. Also returning is Ted Danson’s surprise hit, Man on the Inside, promising even more high-stakes espionage and psychological twists. Whether you’re in the mood for supernatural nostalgia or edge-of-your-seat spy drama, these new Netflix series are set to dominate your watchlist.

Stranger Things 5: Volume 1

Release Date: 27 November 2025

We’ve come a long way since the debut of this zeitgeist-capturing horror series. When we last left the story, the Rifts opened up and the Upside Down was beginning to invade Hawkins. In Season 5, our heroes unite on a mission to locate and terminate the villain Vecna, while the town is placed under military lockdown. It’s all building up to the final showdown between the forces of good and evil. Cue the Metallica because things are about to get gnarly.

Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2

Release Date: 4 November 2025

The South Korean series Squid Game was so popular that it inspired this reality competition show (not to be confused with the one from YouTuber MrBeast). It’s back for another season, putting 456 contestants through the wringer in various games of skill. While not a life-or-death situation like the original series, there is a life-changing prize of $4.56 million on the line.

Selling the OC: Season 4

Release Date: 12 November 2025

It wouldn’t be a proper month of entertainment without a little hate-watching, and we have just the thing. Welcome to Orange County, California, where the real estate market is always hot and so are the agents. Follow the owners and agents at Oppenheim Group as they sell dream homes to demanding buyers and grapple with all kinds of interpersonal drama. Season 4 will bring back several cast members and introduce three new ones as well. Don’t miss it. Or do.

Man on the Inside: Season 2

Release Date: 20 November 2025

Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson) is the man on the inside in this mystery comedy series of the same name. After going undercover in a retirement home, the former professor will now set his sights on a college campus. Unpredictability abounds and danger looms, but a lighthearted tonality prevails. Look for a guest appearance from Danson’s real-life wife, Mary Steenburgen.

Fisk: Season 3

Release Date: 24 November 2025

This Aussie comedy series follows the misadventures of lawyer Helen Tudor-Fisk (played by co-creator Kitty Flanagan), who lands at a small-town firm after her life falls apart. Now a partner, the forthright protagonist continues to deal with zany clients and co-workers alike. Time flies when you’re watching this one.

The Beast in Me

Release Date: 13 November 2025

This limited series sounds like an updated take on all kinds of classic thrillers – including Rear Window – and we’re here for it. Claire Daines plays reclusive author Aggie Wiggs, who becomes fixated on her new neighbour. His name is Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), and he’s a powerful real estate mogul who was once suspected of murdering his wife. So goes a dangerous game of cat and mouse as Wiggs searches for answers at her own mental and physical peril.

Death by Lightning

Release Date: 6 November 2025

Follow the respective paths of U.S. President James A. Garfield (played by Michael Shannon) and his assassin (Matthew Macfadyen) in this docudrama miniseries. Garfield’s rise out of poverty and into prominence is a stranger-than-fiction story unto itself, so this one should be worth checking out.

Train Dreams

Release Date: 21 November 2025

Praise is high for this historical drama from the director of 2023’s Sing Sing. Things to Consider for Netflix

When it comes to streaming services, Netflix is arguably the biggest and best-known. The entertainment juggernaut has produced some of the most binged series in recent memory, not to mention given new life to ageing and formerly cancelled favourites. When you are considering a subscription or you just want to know what to watch on Netflix, here are some considerations to keep in mind.

Subscription

In order to watch new Netflix series and movies, you will need to subscribe to the platform. That being said, you can see what is out there before you sign up as it is possible to browse Netflix without subscribing. You can browse Netflix’s full catalogue of titles without subscribing by visiting netflix.com/watch-free. With this site, you can watch the first episode of many popular series without needing to sign up.

Netflix Cost

If you have been asking ‘Is Netflix cheaper than Prime Video?”, the answer isn’t as straightforward as you’d think. A standard Netflix subscription with ads is cheaper than Prime Video, while a standard subscription without ads is slightly more expensive than Prime Video. Netflix’s standard with ads is priced at AUD$6.99 per month, while Prime Video will set you back AUD$9.99 per month.

Titles and Originals

Netflix is renowned for its massive catalogue of titles, highlighted primarily by its extensive range of Netflix originals. These in-house productions receive the biggest marketing push on the platform, so you have likely tuned in, seen one or two or unwittingly binged whole seasons. For reference, the most-viewed series in Netflix history is reportedly season one of Squid Game, which generated an estimated 265,200,000 views, followed by season one of Wednesday with 252,100,000 views and season four of Stranger Things with 140,700,000 views.
