Friday has arrived and it’s a big one for the Man of Many team. After years spent in our tiny little home in Darlinghurst, we’ve finally made the move to a big boy office, and today marks one official week in our new home. I must say, it’s been a journey and while there are still boxes everywhere and a mountain of rubbish piling up in the common area, it feels good. Speaking of, here are a few more reasons to smile, courtesy of our Feel-Good Friday instalment for this week.

Uber Eats and PAW Patrol Put Back-to-School Breakkies on the Menu

Ride-sharing and food delivery platform Uber Eats has teamed up with global phenomenon PAW Patrol to deliver three nutritionist-backed meal bundles to Aussie kids. Designed to give time-poor parents and caregivers a breakfast boost, the new initiative arrives just in time for the new school year. Best of all, each bundle has various meal variations with enough ingredients for several school days, with each pack priced at just $1 from participating merchants.

You’ll be able to choose your child’s breakfast bundle on Uber Eats based on either their favourite character or their child’s preferred type of brekkie – sweet, savoury or a combination, all with guaranteed fun. According to Uber Eats, the flavours include:

  • Skye’s Berrylicious Yoghurt Box: Take to the sky with Skye’s Berrylicious Yoghurt Box, featuring yoghurt, berries, chia seeds, honey and Weet-Bix (you will need to add your choice of milk).
  • Rubble’s Banana Cinnamon Porridge Box: Time to get to work with Rubble’s Banana Cinnamon Porridge Box featuring bananas, oats, honey, cinnamon and chia seeds (you will need to add your choice of milk).
  • Chase’s Savoury Brekkie Box: Chase is on the case with this savoury brekkie box featuring coconut cream, cheese, wholemeal flour, tomato and mushrooms (you will need to add your choice of eggs).

The Uber Eats x PAW Patrol bundles come in response to new research that suggested breakfast is the most challenging meal for Aussie families. In a national survey commissioned by Uber Eats and PureProfile, 1 in 2 Aussie parents revealed that preparing and getting children to eat a healthy breakfast is a pain point, with nearly 2 in 4 parents (38 per cent) suggesting that getting their kids to eat breakfast at all was a challenge.

Qualified paediatric nutritionist Mandy Sacher, who co-created the meal bundles with Uber Eats and PAW Patrol, said the goal of the initiative was to provide real food that energises children for a busy day of learning, playing and making friends.

“Working with Uber Eats and PAW Patrol, we’ve created three meal bundles to power kids for a busy school day,” Dr Sacher said. “Like the PAW Patrol pups, parents are constantly racing to the rescue to get books, PE gear, uniforms, and more, for school return. Preparing nutritious meals can sometimes take a back seat.

“In my time as a paediatric nutritionist, we’ve found that nutritionally poor breakfasts, lacking in vital nutrients, could be detrimental to your child’s school day in a similar way to having nothing at breakfast at all. Each meal bundle has two balanced recipe variations, giving parents inspiration on nutritious combos and ingredients available on Uber Eats. Our highly trained paws are at your service to help Aussie parents prepare for a busy return to school.”

HOW TO ORDER (if you’re in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney’s CBD and surrounds)

  • Open the Uber Eats app
  • Update your delivery location
  • Search “PAW Patrol”, and select one of the participating stores near you
  • Add a brekkie bundle to your cart

Design Institute of Australia Unveils ‘Diagonal’

After 75 years of championing the success of our nation’s top producers, the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) has entered a new era. The organisation has unveiled ‘Diagonal’, a new publication centred around the ‘why’ behind design. The inaugural issue, led by editorial director and Russell & George co-founder Byron George, honours Indigenous perspectives on time and place. According to DIA, it serves as a platform to explore the philosophies and stories that define contemporary design.

Themed around resilience, Diagonal presents a diverse range of stories, most notably through the First Nations community’s profound connection to land, culture, and identity, exploring how the fashion industry can adapt and thrive in an uncertain future. The cover depicts spring in various states of compression, designed by creative director Sachi Kapadia and 3D knit innovation company, Knovus. Coded and produced in a knitted form, the three-dimensional graphic “speaks to the idea of celebrating our similarities rather than our differences”.

Importantly, Diagonal is offered in two sustainable formats: a digital edition, free for DIA members, and a collectable, limited-edition print version. Non-members can access the publication through subscription, with all proceeds directly supporting the DIA’s mission to advance Australian design excellence. For more information, visit the DIA website and get involved today.
