In tandem with the release of the new Galaxy S20 launch this morning, Samsung also announced a new addition to its foldable phone range. It’s called the Z Flip and it’s taking on the new Motorola Razr head-on.
There are still very few details on the Z Flip but we do know that it will be launched in Australia over the coming months. The clamshell design comes in either a ‘mirror black’ or ‘mirror purple’ finish and as a whole is undeniably sleek. The 6.7-inch AMOLED Infinity Flex Display is designed to deliver amazing colour quality, reduced blue light and can even stand up by itself for hands-free video chats and hands-free selfies. Even when its shut, you can still control your phone. Optimised to help notify you at a glance, you can go straight to the app in question when you tap the cover screen notification and unfold your phone.
The Z Flip hasn’t compromised when it comes to cameras either. Boasting 4K UHD video recording, a 12MP ultrawide back camera and software such as Bixby Vision, the Z-Flip is perfect for the everyday phone photographer. Multi-tasking has also received an upgrade with the addition of a foldable screen. Flex mode splits compatible apps in half and puts the controls on the bottom half — turning the top half into a viewing area.
As we said, there’s still very little that we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, but more details are sure to be released in the next couple of months. Stay tuned.
