Earlier this week Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch Active2, the latest smartwatch designed to enhance health and wellness monitoring along with more options for personalised, connected living. Like all good smartwatches, Galaxy Watch Active2 will help make small, yet meaningful changes to your daily routine. We’re talking valuable insights and apps for improving diet, exercise, mental health and sleep.
The smartwatch can manually track more than 39 workouts with seven of them automatically activated—including running, walking, cycling, rowing machine, elliptical machine and dynamic exercises. With the updated Running Coach, you can monitor running pace in real-time and enjoy seven different running programs to help meet your goals. You better believe heart-rate monitoring is included.
Galaxy Watch Active2 also helps track real-time stress levels through the integrated Samsung Health app and a partnership with leading sleep and meditation app, Calm. An improved sleep analysis feature monitors sleeping patterns and aids recovery.
When paired with a smartphone, users can make and receive calls freely from the watch and access social media with a tap of the finger. New interactions include responding to or liking tweets, watching short videos, controlling the camera on a Samsung Galaxy phone and browsing Spotify playlists. But maybe the best new smart feature is the real-time voice and text translation that supports at least 16 languages.
Galaxy Watch Active2 comes in two different sizes—44mm and 40mm in two styles: lightweight aluminium with a casual rubber wristband, and premium solid stainless steel with a leather strap. The smartwatches can be personalised with a range of additional stylish strap and watch-face options.
Samsung Watch’s signature rotating bezel returns with a new feature than turns the display digital to make it more convenient to navigate. The curved Super-AMOLED screen and rotating touch bezel turns both clockwise and counter-clockwise to advance screens and easily select apps.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 will be available in Australia from October 8 with prices starting at AUD$549.
