How quickly the weeks are flying by! Now entering week number three of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, our eyes remain fixed on what is happening in Europe. The Aussies are continuing to smash it in the pool, while the Americans are starting to take hold in the athletics, making for some seriously entertaining viewing, and now we’re adding to it! To make your weekend even more exciting, we’ve pulled together our favourite products and experiences from the past seven days. Here is Man of Many’s Staff Favourites for this week, ready for your enjoyment.
Tumble Club
Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief
While this might sound like I am getting into the Olympic spirit with a bit of gymnastics, the reality is much more boring. About two months ago, our long-suffering washing machine finally kicked the bucket and rather than buying a new one, my wife and I decided to test out the laundromat down the road. Now (and incredibly sadly), I’m obsessed.
Our weekend routine now sees us stroll down the road with our dirty clothes, pop them in our local Tumble Club’s industrial-sized machines and grab coffee at the cafe next door while we wait. The hour-long process is a great way for us to relax and decompress from the working week, and once it’s finished, we feel like we’ve actually ticked off an important task. Best of all, Tumble Club is open 24 hours a day, so I can duck in and do my washing whenever I feel like it. Sure, it’s a little annoying carrying all your stuff down the street and it’s definitely more expensive than a home washing machine, but it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.

YETI Rambler Mug with MagSlider
Scott Purcell – Co-Founder
A few in the team have been trying out the Ember mug to keep their beverages warm, and while I certainly see its merit, I still think the YETI Rambler is the top dog. The camping-focused cup kept my coffee so hot that 15 minutes after pouring and putting the lid on, it still burnt my lip. I’ve since learnt to take the lid off to let it cool a little, but the insulation is second to none. The double-wall vacuum insulation will also keep your beers frosty, but remember, it’s a bad habit to drink at work.

Oliver Peoples Merceaux Sunglasses (Black)
Rob Edwards – Branded Content Editor
To say I have more than my fair share of sunglasses would be an understatement. I probably have a couple of dozen black pairs alone. Despite this, I’ve wanted a pair of these Oliver Peoples beauties since January. Having finally ordered them last month, I haven’t worn anything else since. They surpass every pair of Persols, Ray-Bans, and Tom Fords I own, and I imagine they’ll remain in heavy rotation for quite some time. Plus, the fact that an immaculately dressed Pierce Brosnan was seen wearing the Merceaux frame in a slightly different colourway at Wimbledon the week after I made my purchase was the ultimate reassurance that I’d made a wise choice.

Ember Mug 2
Dean Blake – Journalist – Tech, Entertainment & Features
If you’re anything like me, coffee is the main thing that gets you out of bed in the morning. But there’s nothing more disappointing than a coffee that’s gone cold because you got distracted or busy. That’s where the Ember Mug comes in: it’s a mug that keeps your drink of choice hot for you, thanks to a built-in battery that stays topped up by way of a conductive baseplate.
Essentially, it’ll keep your beverage sitting pretty between 50 and 62 degrees for at least 1.5 hours when on battery power, or as long as you need it when kept on the plate. I thought it was a pretty ridiculous idea, and then I tried it and had hot coffee literally all morning, much to my delight. It’s powered by a connected app, which lets you set the temperature you want your drink to be, but other than that it just works. I’m a big fan, and it’ll be a staple of my desk as long as it keeps doing the job. Just don’t put it in the dishwasher.

Bills Darlinghurst
Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships
I had my first Bills experience on Tuesday for lunch, and it well exceeded my expectations, which were set at a slightly above-average standard. The venue has often been a topic of positive conversation in our offices, and now I see why. The room was filled with sunlight and struck a nice balance between sophistication and casual, an area I like to operate in. The service was top-notch, and the staff were attentive and friendly.
I had the grilled Sichuan pepper chicken sandwich with a side of chips and chilli sambal. I think the combination of just sitting in a nice room with a great sandwich, feeling proud of myself for making the correct call on the chilli sambal addition, and a glass of white wine all fit together perfectly. It’s legitimately hard to fault my first experience here, and I encourage anyone who hasn’t been to give it a shot. I loved it.

Manpuku Ramen, Chatswood
Beatrix Boon – Social Media Producer
Manpuku is a small, intimate dining experience all about the broth. The choice between chicken-based or pork was a tough one, but I eventually landed on the latter. It’s usually my go-to selection when it comes to ramen, being the heavier of the two options it’s always good for a cold winter’s night like it was last Friday… And having just waited 40 minutes at the door, I was chilly!
Literally called ‘Long Name Signature,’ this soy-based pork broth was truly heavenly. This house-made Tonkotsu broth takes three days to make. For $23, it comes with a slice of seared chashu pork belly, a nitamago-marinated egg, blanched bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. This creamy goodness was a next-level ramen experience, and I’m definitely coming back again.
