At the Geneva Motor Show Lamborghini unveiled the seductive Huracán Perfomante, the innovative super sportscar that set the production lap record on German circuit Nürburgring Nordschleife. Thanks to the new lightweight tech, active aerodynamics with aero vectoring, a redistributed chassis and enhanced powertrain, this sleek beauty provides ultimate performance on both road and track.
Outputting 640hp at 8000rpm, the Huracán Perfomante accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The vehicle can reach 200km in 8.9 seconds and brake from 100-0 over 31m, representing the pinnacle of Lamborghini DNA as the most powerful V10 to date. This is perfectly exemplified by its name “Huracán Performante” – Hurricane Performance.
The Performante is built from forged composite in structural components including front and rear spoiler, the bonnet, rear bumper and aerodynamic diffuser, contributing to the car’s weight reduction of 40kg. Active Aerodynamics (ALA) generates the desired downforce for high-speed cornering and full brake conditions drastically reduce drag. The ALA is handled via flaps in the front and rear spoilers and is 80% lighter than traditional hydraulic systems. Electromechanical power steering is offered as standard, and the permanent four-wheel drive system is tuned to maximise traction in all situations. Huracán Performante Is also fitted with specially designed bronze 20” Narvi forged rims.
Reflecting the pure lines and performance of Lamborghini Super Trofeo race cars, the new front is sophisticated and razor-blade sharp with air intakes and splitter giving the impression of incisors, reminiscent of a striking snake. The active aerodynamic front spoiler is clearly visible in Forged Composite. The front bumper has no grills emphasising lightweight, efficiency and sportiveness. The high mounted exhaust and composite in matte are all just icing on the cake for this technical marvel
Inside, air vents, paddles, door handles and the centre console are created from Forged Composite. Referencing its racing heritage, lightweight, dark coloured Alcantara fabric is used throughout, including the sports seats where an optional ‘Y’ graphic can be lasered. Comfort seats with the same trim are available as an alternative. The new digital cockpit displays are configurable depending on the driving mode selected: Strada, Sport or Corsa, with a display dedicated to the ALA detailing data on downforce and drag. The new cockpit layout supports Apple CarPlay and its iPhone apps including the Lamborghini telemetry system, which allows the driver to record, replay and study his performance.
The first customers will take delivery of the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante in Winter 2017.
