Launching in Australia towards the end of August, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S6 is a powerful all-rounder, set to enrich the mobile landscape. It’s built for those who need to be both creative and productive, with Samsung stating the new Galaxy Tabs allow users to do more than they can on any other tablet. The new Tab looks impressive and packs loads of new features, but we’ve settled on five key reasons why you would consider the upgrade.
A PC-like Desktop Experience
Galaxy Tab S6 features a new-and-improved version of Samsung DeX – Samsung’s desktop experience. Optimised for multitasking and resembling the Windows operating system, DeX allows users to transition from a portable touch display to PC-like setup seamlessly. S6’s new dedicated Book Cover Keyboard can launch and close DeX with the tap of a key. The keyboard is fine-tuned for better functionality and includes a touchpad, S Pen holder, angle stand, and new function keys.
The Improved Camera
Tab S6 features Samsung’s first ultra-wide-angle camera on a tablet expanding to a 123 degrees viewing angle perfect for scenery and landscapes. For comparison, that’s the same angle as the human eye. The front-facing camera comes in at 8 megapixels with 13 + 5 at the rear. Meanwhile, the Neural Processing Unit lets you take professional photos thanks to enhanced effects. The video editor powered by Adobe Premier Rush is the icing on the cake.
The New S Pen
Samsung’s redesigned S Pen goes beyond writing and drawing to also function as a remote control for the Galaxy Tab. Physical gestures referred to as “S Pen Air Actions” allow you to take selfies and videos, or control multimedia content even when the tablet is out of your hands. Plus, S Pen features wireless charging that delivers up to 10 hours of battery life in just ten minutes charge time. Pair this with the handwritten note-to-text function and the magnetised attachment and the new S Pen has the makings of a grand digital pen.
Powerful Gaming on the Go
Gamers will appreciate that the CPU is 81% faster than the Galaxy Tab S4 while the GPU sees a 64% increase. Games running on the Unity and Unreal game engines offer increased frame rates and minimal lag for smoother performance. Samsung’s AI Neuro Game Booster technology even optimises the Tab S6’s performance level and power consumption for games. Streamers can make use of Discord voice and live chat integrated into Samsung’s Game Launcher.
A Portable Cinematic Experience
The bright and vibrant 10.5-inch AMOLED display is said to be perfect for both work and play, while the quad speakers powered by AKG and Dolby Atmos deliver cinematic sound.
Set the right mood lighting for a film using the Galaxy Tab S6 as a hub to manage appliances with SmartThings. Together with Bixby, you can easily control your devices via voice commands. To get you started, Samsung is throwing in 3 free months of Spotify Premium and 4 free months of YouTube Premium. And with that, you can finally get around to binge-watching Cobra Kai.
Galaxy Tab S6 comes in Mountain Gray and Cloud Blue colours.
