Omega has had a long relationship with Casamigos Tequila, and that friendship is finally bringing fruit. Working with spirits company Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal, Omega is launching a brand-new timepiece that will be limited to only 80 pieces—the Seamaster Planet Ocean “Deep Black” Casamigos.
Deep Black is a combination of a GMT model and a diving watch. Centred around a 45.5mm case, the watch earns its name with a black ceramic that is finished in a matte texture, which was inspired by Casamigos’ newly released Mezcal. It’s not just the colour of the watch that matches the bottle, but also the lettering.
Done in the exact shade of teal as Casamigos’ agave logo, the colour shows up on the tips of two of the four hands as well. The sapphire crystal case back was also specially treated to resemble the dark glass of the Mezcal bottle. You’ll also find the Mezcal logo along with the limited edition number on the back.
Omega opted for the Omega Master Chronometer calibre 8906 automatic GMT for the movement, which is the same movement used in the Planet Ocean Deep Black watches. The limited edition watch will have a 60 hour power reserve, Co-Axial escapement, 15,000 gauss of anti-magnetism, and a 0 to +5 seconds per day accuracy.
The Deep Black will come with a stitched rubber strap and a display case.
