Under Armour Autumn Collection

Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief

Nothing motivates you to return to the gym more than a new set of workout clothes. For the past couple of weeks, my training has lagged and I’ve prioritised lifting the fork to my mouth over lifting weights. Thankfully, the athletic legends over at Under Armour are looking out for me. The global sportswear icon just unveiled its new Australian-focused brand platform ‘Live in UA’ and to celebrate, they sent me over an assortment of ultra-premium new training gear.

Building on the brand’s reputation for innovation in sports performance technology, the new ‘Live in UA’ collection is loaded with apparel, footwear, and accessories designed to elevate both functionality on and off the track.

“At Under Armour, we believe that every moment is an opportunity to perform at your best,” said Fernando Reani, managing director at Under Armour Australia and New Zealand. “With the ‘Live in UA’ collection, we’re redefining athletic wear by providing our customers with versatile pieces that seamlessly adapt to their dynamic lifestyles, whether they’re going out for a run, sweating it out at pilates or heading out for a casual day.”

I personally love the 90s-inspired casual trainers UA Apparition and UA Forge 96, while the super-soft and stretchy UA Meridian Range is practically my new uniform. Best of all, every piece in the collection is crafted from cutting-edge fabrics that ensure maximum comfort, durability, and style. If you are looking to up your training style, I can’t recommend Under Armour’s new collection enough. The ‘Live in UA’ collection is now shoppable online and at UA Brand Houses and rebel stores nationally.

Jordan Shanks Patreon – Creating A BETTER YOU!

Scott Purcell – Co-Founder

It’s pretty rare that I’m not promoting our own social media or asking you to follow our newsletter, but this time, I’m encouraging you to sign up for someone else. Jordan Shanks, AKA Friendly Jordies, also has a self-help channel and Patreon that is well worth checking out if you’ve ever been interested in productivity, self-help books, motivation, looking after your mental health or generally just getting ahead in life.

While the whole thing might seem like a bit of a p*ss-take at first with his sarcastic intros, the content is anything but, with several videos published as weekly reminders for you to stay on track with getting into good habits, a good mindset and challenging yourself to be better. I’ll admit, I’m a massive cynic and not really into the “woo woo” stuff that you often see plastered across Instagram of fit blokes in run clubs telling you how to “get after it” each morning, but Jordie’s videos are refreshingly honest, raw and authentic. He’s read over 200 self-help books, so you don’t have to, and he’s got a wealth of knowledge to pass on. You can sign up to his Patreon at the link below, where the good stuff is, or check out his massive backlog on YouTube.

Strangelove Beverage Co. Lo-Cal Sodas

Frank Arthur – Co-Founder

Originating from Byron Bay, Strangelove Beverage Co. has been crafting “Drinks with bold flavours and eye-catching packaging” since 2012. Currently, I’m embracing my “no fizzy drink for me” era and have evolved from the overly sweet soft drinks of my youth. Strangelove’s offerings provide the perfect alternative. Produced locally in Regional Victoria, their beverages boast natural flavours and are free from preservatives.

Although non-alcoholic, these drinks pack a punch. Their unique selection includes Yuzu, Double Ginger, and Very Mandarin, amongst others, all known for their crisp, refreshing, and authentically natural flavour profiles. My personal top pick is the Lime & Jalapeño, which is a distinctive blend that combines a zesty citrus burst with a bold spicy kick, all balanced by a subtle hint of sweetness for a perfectly satisfying sip. And most importantly, they go amazingly well in cocktails.

Cobram Estate 2024 First Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Richie Hall – Video Producer

Each year the start of May heralds the release of Cobram Estate’s First Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I enjoyed a bottle of this last year and I’ve been really looking forward to trying the 2024 addition. The bottle itself is beautiful and looks great in any kitchen. Inside the bottle, of which there are only 5,300 available, is the pinnacle of the season’s olives. What stood out to me last year was not only the variety of flavour notes but how smoothly they all came together. This year’s release is said to combine notes of freshly mown grass, citrus zest, marzipan, tomato and green tropical fruits. I’ll be splashing this liquid gold on just about everything over the coming months.

Blunt Umbrellas

Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships

Like many, I have a love-hate relationship with rain. At home, nestled safely indoors with a movie playing and a glass of red wine in hand, I welcome every drop. Let it pour. But stepping out, whether for work or leisure, transforms it into a major annoyance. These past two weeks have truly tested my new Blunt Umbrella. Amidst heavy rain and strong winds, especially at an infamous intersection in Darlinghurst, it has not only shielded me from the downpour but instilled a great sense of confidence, which has been an unintended benefit. The elements are simply no match for the modular design and sturdy frame. I even walked past a frustrated man whose umbrella had inverted as he was stuffing it in the bin. In that moment, I felt like a bit of a king. Apologies random stranger.
