Nike’s footwear drops never stop. They don’t even slow down. The sporting giant seemingly releases details of at least one new pair of shoes each week. The latest style was announced during the holidays. It’s the retro-tech inspired Nike Epic React Flyknit 2, and it’s expected to hit stores before the end of January 2019. This latest release is one of Nike’s first for 2019 launching in time for you to make the most of those New Year’s resolution fitness goals.
The Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 is designed to deliver a soft, responsive ride kilometre after kilometre. Nike specifies these runners take smooth, lightweight performance to the next level. Featuring an improved upper and updated Flyknit construction that conforms to your foot with a minimal, supportive design that provides both stretch and support.
Underfoot, the durable Nike React technology defies the odds by being both ultra-soft and responsive. This new design is expected to replace the first generation Epic React Flyknit which we described as Nike’s “most innovative running shoe” to date.
The silhouette that brought Nike’s responsive, do-everything foam to running will debut in two new colourways – “8-bit” and “Pixel”. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant tones of the ’90’s tech world, the colourways feature a white-to-lime gradient midsole, a hyper pink-to-white outsole and a sapphire heel clip. It’s not Nike’s only nod to tech, having recently released a pair of sneakers in collaboration with PlayStation and Paul George.
Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 in the ‘8-Bit’ colourway will be available to NikePlus members from January 18, and the ‘Pixel’ colourway will be available to all from January 31. There’s currently no word on pricing although we figure around $220 AUD.
