James Bond has a certain knack for getting outfitted with the best gear. From Aston Martins to Walther PPK, the super spy has only the best, and that includes his wristwatch. In honor of the next installment in the Bond Legacy, No Time to Die, Omega has created the Seamaster 007 Special Edition.
Only 257 sets of the limited edition Seamaster 007 will be made. The watch comes with a 42mm Seamaster Diver 300M model case done in 18K yellow gold and comes on a black rubber strap. An 18K white gold plate on the side of the case identifies the watch’s Limited Edition number. The bezel for the watch is done in black ceramic and features an Omega Ceragold diving scale. The dial is also black ceramic, and features a laser-engraved gun-barrel design—the same design that is used in the opening sequences of Bond films. This design’s center measures exactly 9mm, a reference to Bond’s caliber of choice. Another hidden reference is the number 50, which is done in the luminescent material of the 10 o’clock index and references the fiftieth anniversary of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. At 12 o’clock the Bond family coat-of-arms is displayed. The sapphire crystal on the case back also displays the same coat of arms done in gold and black. Finally, at 7 o’clock, you’ll find a small 007 logo.
For the movement, Omega employed their Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8807. The movement is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. It uses a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring. It automatically winds in both directions and for this watch has a special luxury finish of 18K Sedna gold on the rotor and balance bridge.
If you’re looking to gear up like Bond, then you’ll need a tux, a holster for that Walther PPK, an Aston Martin in the driveway, and the Omega Seamaster 007 Special Edition watch.
