GoPro Release Entry Level HERO Camera… For Under $300

World leaders in the action-cam category GoPro have once again proved that they know how to stay ahead of the pack, announcing today that their latest camera will land at a cool A$299.95.

The HERO range of cameras, which are favoured by hikers, divers, climbers, surfers, skydivers, and pretty much every other adrenaline junkie between here and the grand canyon, are as tough as nails, and make it almost impossible to capture bad video content. The latest member of the family is an entry-level camera which boasts all the usual robustness of the range, but with a lower price point–perfect for times when a mobile phone camera just won’t cut it.

Shooting video footage in 1080p60 HD, or 10MP for still photos, the HERO is one of the easiest ways to capture, edit and share footage of your escapades, without any mucking around. The device shares clips and shots to your mobile, then edits them via an app, saving the hassle of swapping SD cards and uploading to a PC. This makes it possible to show off cinematic masterpieces through your social channels before you’re even back in the car. Another great feature is the addition to the GoPro App’s latest ability to share your action videos directly to your Instagram Stories via an easy click and share button allowing you to showcase Instagram Stories like never before.

With more people getting outdoors and sharing their adventures on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, it’s great to see brands like GoPro willing to cater to the masses, so that everybody can join in the fun.
